Procrastination is a negative behavior that affects the personality of the individual (the student), making him a tense personality who is afraid to make decisions so that he is unable to face crises and difficulties, Which leads to not completing tasks and completing the work on time, and this leaves a psychological impact on the student’s personality, causing him to become frustrated, fearful, lack self-confidence despair, and lack of determination. The family has the main role in shaping the individual’s personality since his childhood. It has a great impact on the growth of this personality. The more educated the family is that understands life, the more the child will grow up with positive qualities, and the opposite of a broken family that leaves a negative impact on the individual’s personality. The school has an effective role in forming a strong personality for the student by giving ideas and encouraging study so that the student can overcome procrastination and achieve goals to reach higher levels, and the opposite affects the course of the educational process and building society.The research falls into four chapters: The first (the methodological framework of the research) includes the research problem centered on the following question: What is the procrastinating personality and its repercussions on the educational process? The research demonstrates its importance by shedding light on a topic that is valuable and important to educational and social life , The objectives of the research are to identify the procrastinating personality and its repercussions on the educational process, while defining the spatial and temporal boundaries. The chapter concluded by defining the terms procrastinating personality.
The second chapter deals with the theoretical framework in three sections:
1- The procrastinating personality in psychology.
2- The procrastinating personality in social science.
3- Educational methods that address
procrastination. And the indicators resulting from the theoretical framework.
The third chapter dealt with the research procedures, where the researcher identified the research community consisting of (8) theatrical texts, and the play (The Smart Bear) was analyzed as the research sample, and the intentional sample was chosen for its homogeneity with the research community , The researcher relied on the descriptive approach in analyzing the sample to be consistent with the research objective. The researcher also relied on the indicators of the theoretical framework as analytical criteria.
The fourth chapter contained the results reached by the researcher in her research:
1- The procrastinating personality takes multiple methods and provides justifications and excuses in order to ensure that tasks are performed on time.
2- The procrastinating personality is a weak and anxious personality who is unable to make decisions.
As for the conclusions:
1- The negative effects of procrastination have a major impact on the student, the family, society, and the educational process.
2- The widespread phenomenon of procrastination and working to present ideas and get rid of them.
