The absent character and its functions in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text

Abstract

Research summary :

The current research dealt with the absent character and its treatment in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text (Family honor as a model) The research included four chapters, where the first chapter included the research problem that revolved around the following question: - What are the treatments for the absent character in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text? ,Then the importance of the research and the need for it, then the goal of the research, and its boundaries were determined (temporal, spatial, objective), in addition to defining the terms contained in the title of the research and the procedural definition. The second chapter included two sections. In the first section, the researcher dealt with the concept of absence, and in it The second topic: The concept of the absent personality. The chapter concluded with the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. The third chapter was devoted to the research procedures, the research sample, and the research tool and methodology. One sample was chosen as a model for the study. The fourth chapter contains the results reached by the researcher, the most important of which are                                                                                                 

1- The dominance of the absent character over the theatrical text and over the other characters. He was in control despite not appearing, as his role was clear through the behavior of the characters and their constant mention of the absent character in the theatrical text.                                 

2- The absent character complicated the theatrical text, and we find this complexity in the conflicts that occurred between the characters.         

This chapter also included conclusions and recommendations in addition to suggestions and concluded with a list of sources and references.
