Abstract

Abstract:

Social culture, with its system, is a cognitive system that has a distinctive impact on the reception itself, and becomes a driving force that rejects what is prevalent. Social discourse brings about the opposite, and when it is different from what is announced, it will be coded with ideas and their variations, and it is sent through its codes to be generated and renewed with what it brings. It is not strange to find social discourses in contemporary Iraqi and contemporary Egyptian painting represented initially in references that the producer establishes to produce works on the visual surface to announce a set of narratives and stories that refer us to research their causes and reasons. Each era has an intellectual and philosophical discourse whose values differ, which it directs through art in another era. The current research included four chapters. In the first chapter, the researcher presented the research problem with the following questions:

1.  Has art, with its various forms and different fields, been an urgent choice and a protest choice in contemporary Iraqi culture?

2.  How has Iraqi societal culture transformed in light of the protest system that formed a cultural reality from which art derives its influential political and social existence?

Importance of the research: The importance of the current research comes in shedding light on a cognitive aspect that reveals the presence of the transformation in social culture in contemporary Iraqi formation in light of the cultural transformation, which indicates the starting point for researchers to complete what this research ends with. The aim of the research: The current research aims to: Identify the social cultural transformations in contemporary Iraqi formation and the limits of the research: The objective limit: Iraqi artworks in which social cultural transformations appear, the time limit: the period from 1982-2015, the spatial limit: Iraq.

As for the second chapter, the theoretical framework, it contained three topics: The first topic: Social transformation as a concept, the second topic: The concept of culture and affirmation of identity in contemporary Iraqi formation.

The third chapter contained the research procedures, including the research community, its sample, and the nature of the method in it, and then analyzing the samples that amounted to (3) models. As for the fourth chapter, it contained the results of the research and conclusions, and among the results that were reached:

1.  We see that color, shape, structure, composition, and the specificities of conceptual broadcasting are included in the transformations of social culture, even if implicitly, representing the culture of an era with pressing references.

2.  The social cultural discourse appeared to be out of the ordinary in an unrealistic broadcast of the artist’s intention in sending symbols and expressions that are philosophically embedded in the representation and interrelationship between man and woman with the city.
