Abstract
Contemporary ceramic art is one of the most important branches of visual art. If it can break free from the prevailing form and conventional functional boundaries, it will move toward new directions and new methods through which it can compete with other arts to shape other forms. Through contemporary methods, the researcher found it necessary to identify the most important contemporary trends, and the trend that serves as a link between ceramics and the philosophy of science, through the relationship between the representation of diseases and ceramics. The ceramicist draws inspiration from reality in order to simulate existence and represent it aesthetically. Epidemics and diseases threaten human life. Therefore, self-expression is a philosophy of survival and resistance for the ceramicist. It is an expression of reality to ward off oblivion and immortalize crises and their effects on humanity. The current research aims to shed light on the diseases and epidemics that target humanity, deepen philosophical and visual thought for a vision inspired by the catastrophic nature that has affected the entire world, and emphasize the importance of drawing artistic themes from the life around us, ensuring that the artist is not isolated from the important global events taking place around him. It is based on four chapters, the first of which includes the methodological framework of the research, which relies on The research problem is represented by the following question: The occupations of diseases and epidemics in contemporary ceramics. The research boundaries included spatial boundaries (Britain and America) and temporal boundaries (2014-2024).
The second chapter, which included the theoretical framework of the research, proceeded along two axes: the first entitled: The cognitive reference for bio-art in visual art The second axis: Bio-art representations in contemporary ceramic art
The third chapter of the research is based on analyzing the research samples consisting of (3) samples. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach to analyze the samples in order to achieve its results, leading to the fourth chapter of the research, which includes the research results, conclusions, sources, references, and a conclusion of the research with a summary in English.
