Abstract

The research entitled (Representations of Theosophy in Modern Painting – Abstraction as a Model) aims to monitor and investigate this theosophical concept and the extent of its relationship in the field of art, especially painting. The research included four chapters. The first chapter was devoted to stating the research problem, which resulted in the following questions: What are the basic principles of Theosophy that found agreement or recurrence with the principles of modern painting? How were these principles translated into visual practices, whether in the apparent structure or the deep structure of the modern artist? What are the limits and impact of this relationship on the paths of abstract painting? The second chapter included two topics: The first topic: Theosophy between meaning and concept, while the second topic dealt with a historical reading in modern art. The third chapter included the research procedures, as it defined the framework of the research community, and selected sample models amounting to (5) five artistic visual texts. The treatments for managing the research and analyzing the sample models were reviewed, while the fourth chapter dealt with the research results, their discussion and conclusions.
