Abstract

Abstract

In recent years, there has been significant development in modern technologies, which contributed to the emergence of smart interior spaces that employ technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and automated control systems. These technologies are no longer limited to enhancing efficiency and comfort only, but also support sustainability, reduce energy consumption, and meet users’ needs in innovative ways. However, their success depends on achieving functional interdependence among the various elements to operate harmoniously within the space. In light of this, the research problem is manifested in the following question: How can modern technologies achieve functional interdependence in smart interior spaces?

The research objective is to clarify how modern technologies can be employed to achieve functional interdependence in smart interior spaces. Meanwhile, the first chapter includes its spatial and temporal boundaries, represented by interior spaces (living rooms in smart villas) in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar (the Arabian Gulf) for the period (2021 – 2023). The research also included the theoretical framework as well as research procedures, represented by the research methodology, which relied on the descriptive-analytical approach. Finally, the research included deriving the most important results, conclusions, recommendations, future suggestions, and the beneficiaries of the research.
