Abstract
The Audiovisual media are an essential element in constructing the aesthetics of contemporary European Sufi theatre. They are no longer merely technical tools, but rather a symbolic and spiritual language that reshapes the theatrical performance space. In this field, Sufi music and recurring vocal rhythms are employed to revive the ritual of listening, while lighting, colours and digital projections are used to embody Sufi concepts such as annihilation, revelation and light.
This employment contributes to transforming the stage into a spiritual presence space, allowing the audience to experience an immersive experience that transcends traditional reception and embraces emotional participation, such that the audience becomes part of the theatrical presence. Furthermore, the combination of Sufi symbols and modern technologies reflects European theatre's ability to re-interpret Sufism with a contemporary spirit that combines spiritual authenticity and artistic innovation.
Thus, the aesthetics of audio-visual media in contemporary European Sufi theatre demonstrate that they are not merely means of dazzle, but rather aesthetic and spiritual bridges that transport the Sufi experience from its inner dimension to a tangible artistic space, enriching the contemporary theatrical structure and giving it a contemplative dimension that transcends the boundaries of entertainment to spiritual and aesthetic knowledge.
