Abstract

Abstract:

The research includes four chapters. The first chapter addresses the research problem represented by the following question: What is the impact of the material and moral mask on the performance of the theatrical actor? The chapter also included the importance of the research by shedding light on the study of the mask and the actor's performance between the moral and material mask. The need for it lies in the fact that it may benefit students and researchers in the field of theater. The chapter also included the aim of the research, which was limited to identifying the performance of the theatrical actor between the moral and material mask. The chapter included the temporal boundaries, which were determined by the period (2012-2020) and the spatial boundaries of the theatrical performances presented in Iraq. The subject matter was determined by studying the performance of the theatrical actor between the moral and material mask. The chapter concluded by defining the terms and defining them linguistically and technically. Chapter Two covers the theoretical framework and includes three sections. The first examines the origins of masks. The second section explores theories of acting and the moral mask. The third section examines some schools that have embraced masks and consistently trained their actors in their theatrical performances. Chapter Three includes the research procedures, including the research community and its samples, which were intentionally selected based on the data presented in the theoretical framework's indicators as a tool for analysis within a descriptive and analytical approach. Through viewing the three selected performances, the following plays were analyzed: (Masks and Reprimand). Chapter Four contains the results (including the following): 1. The mask represents an achievement in theatrical performances in general. Following the results, the chapter concludes with recommendations, suggestions, and a list of sources.
