Abstract

Research Summary

            The current research was concerned with the semantic transformation in the silent theater, and this was embodied in Hussein Malthus' theatrical performances, as the research included four chapters. The first chapter included the methodological framework that included the problem of the research, which was defined by the following question: What is the semantic transformation of the gestural performance in Hussein Malthus's theatrical performances (the play of the cover of rent as a model)? As for the second chapter, it included the theoretical framework, which contained two sections. The first topic came: Semantic Transformation: Concept and Procedures. As for the second topic: Gesture Performance and Cultural Meaning, the chapter concluded with a set of indicators. The third chapter dealt with the research procedures, which included the research community, the research sample that was chosen in an intentional way, which is (a rent cover), the research tool, the research methodology, and the sample analysis. As for the fourth chapter, it included the results and conclusions of the research, and in the end came a list of sources and references.
