Abstract:
The current research dealt with the use of clay deposited from the process of extracting sand and gravel in quarries located in Karbala Governorate in the production of pottery bodies, as the clays extracted from the quarries are secondary clays from the erosion processes that occurred during long previous periods. In this research, three mixtures were made to obtain clay with high specifications and by mixing it with specific quantities within a mixture schedule prepared in advance by the researcher with kaolin clay. The results were the production of a solid pottery body in mixture number one that is shock-resistant and has a smooth surface.
