Abstract

Abstract :

       The current research dealt with the topic of (representations of seduction in modern European painting). The research contained four chapters. The first chapter was concerned with the methodological framework of the research, represented by the research problem, which was defined as (what are the representations of seduction in modern European painting?). The chapter also contained the importance of the research. And the need for it, and the goal of the research, which is (to know the representations of seduction in modern European painting), and Its objective limits are represented by studying representations of seduction in modern European painting. Temporal borders: from 1817-1937 and spatial borders: artworks produced in America and Europe.  then Define the most important terms contained therein.                                                                            

The second chapter: It contained three sections. The first section dealt with the conceptual and intellectual dimension of seduction. The second section dealt with the image of seduction in classical era paintings. The third section dealt with the image of seduction in modern European art. The third chapter was concerned with the research procedures, which included the research community, which amounted to (50) images of works collected from public and private libraries as well as the Internet system. The research sample of (5) was intentionally chosen to represent the research sample for the purpose of analyzing it according to the descriptive analytical approach (content analysis). This study ends by presenting the most important results included in the fourth chapter, coming up with important conclusions, and finally recommendations and proposals. The most important of these results are:

1-    Seduction was represented as readings that had several axes, some of which were formal, direct and did not require interpretation, and some were symbolic and indicative with deep connotations and meanings.

2-     Seduction was represented by the image of Satan and his various methods of temptation, such as fraud, deception, and playing on the inclinations of the human soul and instincts, and the authorities who were seduced by positions to obtain social status.
