Community affiliation and reflections of political pluralism in the discourse of Iraqi theatrical performance (The Wall play as a model)

Abstract

In light of political pluralism, the difference in ideologies and intellectual proposals, and the weakness of belonging and citizenship, Iraqi society faced many problems, including the normalization of values, behaviors, customs and norms, and the emergence of deviant abnormal cases. The research contains four chapters, the first of which included (the first chapter) in the methodological framework of the research on the research problem, which focused on the question: What is the possibility of societal belonging in light of the challenges and resistance to political pluralism in the discourse of the Iraqi theatrical performance, as a model for the play The Wall? While the importance of the research came as a cognitive achievement that benefits students, researchers and workers in the field of art, literature and theater in particular, the research objective included identifying societal affiliation and the reflections of political pluralism in the discourse of the Iraqi theatrical performance, as a model for the play "The Wall". The research time limits were limited to the year 2024 on the model of the play "The Wall" by director Sinan Al-Azzawi, spatially and thematically, and the chapter concluded by defining the terms. (Chapter Two) dealt with the theoretical framework and consisted of two topics, the first of which dealt with political pluralism and its societal components, and the second with societal affiliation in the shadow of colonialism and beyond. The chapter concluded with indicators of the theoretical framework. (Chapter Three) came with research procedures with the research sample, the play "The Wall" by director Sinan Al-Azzawi, chosen as a model, within the mechanism of the descriptive analytical approach and adopting indicators of the theoretical framework as a tool for his research sample in the analysis process. The research concluded with (Chapter Four), which contained the results and conclusions, including the strength of societal affiliation from political consensus. And its positive pluralism, but with its weakness, conflict and division, it negatively affects that belonging and undermines values, morals, customs and traditions. Finally, the research concludes with a list of references and sources.
