Abstract

Research Summary:

The current research consists of four chapters, the first of them is concerned with stating the research problem, which was defined by answering the following question: What are the representations of the connection between the logical and the intuitive in the drawings of the European Renaissance?

The importance and need for the research, then the research objective, which is to reveal the representations of logic and intuition in European Renaissance drawings. Then the research limits and definition of terms.

The second chapter includes two sections: the first section: Logic and intuition in European philosophy. The second section: The spiritual and the realistic in the arts of the Renaissance . Then , the indicators that the theoretical framework concluded. 2- Renaissance artists applied their scientific theories and studies to depict imaginary characters in places depicted in a spirit of logical imitation of natural places, but with a symbolic function that could be perceived by intuition alone. Conclusions include: 1- Religion has a major role in monitoring the themes of the Renaissance era and transforming them into visual formations that are compatible with the type of narrative storytelling, a logic that cannot be escaped.
