Postponement and its implications in the performance of the contemporary Iraqi theatrical actor

Abstract

Research Summary:

The first chapter included the research problem that came in the following question: (What is postponement and its implications in the performance of the contemporary Iraqi theatrical actor?). This chapter also included the importance of the research, which was framed by several points, including: The research was specialized in studying (postponement) in the performance of the theatrical actor to depict intellectual and aesthetic meanings that are fragmented here and there, in which thought is aroused through astonishment and the dominance of diverse images and implications. The research sought to: Identify postponement and its implications in the performance of the contemporary Iraqi theatrical actor. The temporal boundaries of the research were determined: (2014-2024), and the spatial boundaries: (Iraq - Baghdad), and the boundaries of the subject: Studying postponement and its implications in the performance of the contemporary Iraqi theatrical actor. The second chapter (the theoretical framework) consisted of three sections: the first section: Conceptual postponement, the second section: postponement and its representations in the actor's performance of post-modern theatrical performances, and the third section: postponement in the performance of the Arab theatrical actor. The third chapter represented the research procedures, and in it the research community identified (20) Iraqi theatrical performances, from which the researcher extracted the research sample and selected it using the intentional method, and several justifications for choosing the sample were clarified, and it included (two samples), the first of which was a theatrical performance of the play (Abu Abdullah's House) in 2023, directed by (Anas Abdul Samad), and the second was a performance of the play (Al-Jada) directed by (Sinan Al-Azzawi) in 2024. The researcher used the (descriptive method) to analyze the research sample based on the research indicators that came in the theoretical framework as a tool for analyzing the sample. Chapter Four included the research results that the researcher extracted from the analysis of the two theatrical performances / research sample, and the results came separately, each play has its specific results, then the research conclusions followed and came within several points, then the researcher presented the research references and a list of sources.
