Research title (Creating dramatic suspense in cinematic comedy works)

Abstract:

Suspense in its general concept is feelings mixed with fear, anxiety and tension about a certain thing that the recipient is unable to intervene to prevent its occurrence. Suspense is one of the means of anticipation that leaves a person in doubt about a certain thing whose outcome he can expect or not. The feeling of tension aroused by emotion as a result of a situation that results in a certain thing or a special point of view that surpasses the events presented to the recipient. In drama, suspense is used as a hidden driver for dramatic events in the hierarchy of a movie or television series. Therefore, events that are largely dominated by suspense are exciting and thus lead to emotionally attracting the recipient's attention in following the events. He may be aware or the result of the events may be the opposite of what he expects. Hence, suspense is a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty in dealing with the ambiguity of the events performed by the dramatic characters. In terms of narrative expectations, it may contradict curiosity mixed with ambiguity that leads to the paradox and surprise experienced by the recipient and the dramatic character alike.

The method of their treatment of the work varies according to the dramatic type. The author of the comedic works, which are the subject of our research, is responsible for creating suspense in addition to formulating comedic situations that take the recipient to ridicule the situations, fun and venting his feelings. This is of course not easy for the author of these works. We decided to research the creation of dramatic suspense in cinematic comedic works by answering the question posed in the research problem: What are the mechanisms followed in creating dramatic suspense in cinematic and comedic films? The research included the following chapters: -
