Abstract

   The dramatic character is one of the active elements in the narrative structure. It is the central axis around which events revolve and from which various conflicts emerge. Good and evil are embodied, taking on different forms and varying aspects, in addition to its content, which inspires variable behaviors and actions. The essence of character lies in the oscillation between form and content. This oscillation lies in the technique of fantastic narrative, which transforms the natural character into a character that transcends the boundaries of the unreal, the illogical, and the irrational, relying on imagination and illusion. From this perspective, the researcher decided to conduct a study entitled "The Character of the Marvelous Hero in Contemporary Cinema." The research problem was defined by the following question: "What are the characteristics of the character of the marvelous hero in contemporary cinema                                                                                                        "                                                                                                  

The structure of the research included the following axes: an introduction, including the research problem, its importance, objectives, and limitations, followed by a definition of terminology. The importance of the research lies in the fact that it sheds light on the fantastic character, which represents a cognitive addition to the students of the Cinema and Television Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts. The research objectives were limited to revealing the characteristics of the fantastic hero character in contemporary cinema. Regarding the theoretical framework, it included two chapters, the first dealt with the concept of the fantastic, while the second chapter dealt with the characteristics of the fantastic hero character. After that, the researcher came up with a number of indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. The research also contained research procedures that included the research methodology, research community, research tool, and unit of analysis, to be used in analyzing the sample represented by the movie (Venom). The research concluded with a set of results, including: The fantastic has special unique characteristics that distinguish the character of the fantastic hero from the character of the normal hero, through the displacement of its physical and psychological dimensions that gave it uniqueness, distinction, and dazzle, and this was clearly evident in the movie (Venom Part One). The most important conclusions of the study emphasized the role of modern technology and its impact on the elements of cinematic language by creating fantastic characters based on the transformation of their external and internal characteristics within the film's environment, giving them an aesthetic, expressive, and dramatic dimension. The study concluded with a list of sources and an English summary.
