Summary

Every work of art has a form and a meaning. Form is subject to the relationships that connect it to the compositions, and thus the sculptural work is perceived through them. Content and meaning are understood through the systems of form itself. No work of art can separate its form from its meaning, or vice versa, in all cases or methods adopted by the sculptor. Based on this, the researcher formulated her research, entitled "The Symmetry of Meaning and Form in the Works of Sculptor Mekki Hussein Mekki," in four chapters: Chapter One (the methodological framework) contained the research problem defined by the researcher through its problem question: "What is the nature of the symmetry between forms and content in the works of the sculptor Mekki Hussein Mekki?" The research objective included revealing the symmetry of meaning and form in the works of the sculptor Mekki Hussein Mekki. The importance of the research is to shed light on the symmetry of meaning and form in the works of the sculptor Mekki Hussein Mekki. Then the researcher defined the boundaries of her research and identified the most important terms in the research. As for the second chapter (the theoretical framework), it contained two topics. The first topic was the concept of homology in plastic art. As for the second topic: Representations of meaning and form in Iraqi sculpture. Then the researcher concluded the chapter with the most important indicators and previous studies that resulted from the theoretical framework. As for the third chapter (research procedures), which included defining the research community, the research methodology used in analyzing the sample was chosen, then the research tool was chosen to achieve its objectives, then the sample was chosen and then the sample models were analyzed. As for the fourth chapter, it included the results that the researcher reached through analyzing the research sample, then the conclusions. It also included a number of recommendations and suggestions. Then the research was concluded with the sources.
