Research Summary
The current research, “The Constant and the Variable in Modern European Painting,” consists of four chapters. The first of them deals with the research problem, which is defined by answering the following question:
• How are constants and variables represented in modern European painting?
The first chapter also addressed the importance and need for the research, as well as the research objective.
The research boundaries were defined by the period (1900-1960).
The second chapter, which presents the theoretical framework and previous studies, addresses the meaning of the constant and the variable in its first section. The second section addresses the constant and the variable in the structure of modern European graphic thought. The third chapter (research procedures) dealt with the research community, the research sample, and the research tool, in addition to the research methodology and analysis of the sample amounting to (4) as a model. The fourth chapter contained (the research results, conclusions, recommendations, and proposals). Among the results that the researcher reached were: The effect of the fixed and variable concepts of aesthetics and semantics appeared in the artistic achievements of modern European painting. Based on the results obtained, the researcher arrived at a set of conclusions, as follows:
