Abstract

Summary:

Theatrical makeup is one of the important elements that can be adopted in children’s theater performances, especially those related to fairy-tale makeup, because it helps him build his identity and personality and enhances many of his educational ethics, as well as giving him fun, adventure and experience, and preparing the child to enter a visual world full of imaginations, lines, symbols, colors and interpretations that help him to differentiate between good and evil, express his opinion and differentiate between imagination and reality, which gives a positive psychological effect to the child.

The research consists of four chapters. The first chapter addresses the research problem, its significance, the need for it, and its limitations (2020). The research problem is defined by answering the following question: How is makeup used for mythical characters, and what is its effect on children's perception in children's theater performances? The first chapter concludes with defining and operationally clarifying the terms.

The second chapter includes two sections. The first section examines theatrical makeup for characters, exploring its symbolic and visual representational aspects. The second section addresses visual, artistic, and emotional perception in children. The second chapter concludes by outlining the indicators of the theoretical framework.

The third chapter details the research procedures, including the research population and sample. The researchers employed a descriptive-analytical approach in analyzing the sample. The fourth chapter presents the results and conclusions and concludes with a list of references.
