Tolerance and intolerance in contemporary Iraqi theatrical texts

Abstract

Research Summary:

   Societies vary in their cultures, religions, and sects, which form the foundations of the social system with its individuals and their diverse and multiple relationships. Their paths are determined by social values, traditions, and cultural patterns that differ in their behaviors, motives, and goals regarding the right to recognize and accept or reject the other, and their denial, by elevating the selfish self over the collective self. (Tolerance and intolerance) are important value pillars for the formation and construction of the social and cultural systems of human peoples. With tolerance, peoples are strengthened and built, and with intolerance, societies disintegrate and peoples are weakened. Tolerance is a symbol of courage, while intolerance is a symbol of weakness that takes negative, fanatical, and inflexible positions. This manifests in the multiple forms of intolerance and the impact of conflicts and disputes that penetrate and dismantle the culture of tolerance, leading to the adoption of ideologies of hate speech, violence, and extremism. Thus, the research "Tolerance and Intolerance in Contemporary Iraqi Theatrical Texts" covers the concept of tolerance, fanaticism, and violence, and their relationship to Iraqi theatrical texts. It includes four chapters. The first chapter includes (the framework). (Methodological) The research problem focused on the following question: What is tolerance and intolerance in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text.?
