Creating innovative designs by infographics to develop the museum display style in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

Study summary

The importance of this study lies in the use of modern technology in museums, and the use of graphic design programs to develop innovative designs that contribute to the development of the Saudi museum display, as it aimed to develop innovative designs using infographic technology and use them to develop the Saudi museum's display style, and to increase the interaction between museum visitors and collectibles in a fun and interesting way, in addition to stimulating the viewer's motivation towards learning and gaining knowledge.

From this point of view, the study assumed that the use of infographic technology contributes to the development of the museum's display method at a high rate, and that there are statistically significant differences in the degree of suspense and excitement of the rigid and interactive infographics in favor of interactive infographic, as well as it shows the importance of deploying infographic technology in displaying inside the museum because of the positive impact on the development of concepts and knowledge among visitors.

The study addressed the most important programs and applications for infographic design, traditional and modern display methods in museums, and it followed the applied approach through the implementation of a set of rigid, mobile and interactive infographic designs, and used the design assessment form as a study tool.

One of the most important conclusions of the study, that the use of infographic technology greatly contributes to the development of the museum display method, and that there are statistically significant differences in the degree of suspense and excitement of the rigid and interactive infographics in favor of interactive infographic, as well as it shows the importance of deploying infographic technology in displaying inside the museum because of the positive impact on the development of concepts and knowledge among visitors.

In light of these conclusions, the study provided some recommendations, including, conducting more studies and research on the use of modern technologies within Saudi museums, utilizing graphic design programs in creating many innovative designs that contribute to the development of the display style of various local museums, attention to the development and programming of many digital tools and programs that help the graphic designer in the development of museum display styles, in addition to applying the study's infographic designs within the Saudi National Museum and museums in Saudi Arabia and measuring their impact on the museum visitors.
