Televised Violence and Its Negative Impact on Children’s Cartoon Programs: Attack on Titan as a Case Study

       The  present research addresses the topic of violence, whether on television or platforms that broadcast movies and series such as Cinemania and Netflix, including the series (Attack on Titan), which plays a dangerous role in inciting children to violence through horror scenes and dangerous movements that encourage them to violence and impersonate some of the characters in this series, as children tend to imitate others through their repeated viewing of these series. The problem of the research lies in the programs broadcast on television and digital platforms manufactured using drawing and animation techniques, which are closer and more influential on the minds and tastes of children through the diversity of content they provide in simple, diverse and interesting formats that keep them under their influence for long periods to satisfy their needs and desires. The importance of the research is to study the growing phenomena of violence among children, which has begun to become part of their behavior....

  The research also aims to uncover the presence of these scenes in children's programs and series and address them, as they negatively impact children's behavior. The research also aims to legislate and enact laws that protect children and prohibit the broadcast of programs containing television violence in general. The researcher adopted a descriptive approach (content analysis) to arrive at results through which we can address these manifestations in those programs shown to children, including cartoon series. As for the most important research samples, the researcher relied on the first ten episodes of the first season of the series "Attack on Titan," analyzing them and highlighting the most important scenes of violence that negatively impact children's behavior, whether verbal or visual. The research also reached a set of results, the most prominent of which was that this series contains scenes of violence, whether verbal, physical, or actual, which directly impacts children's behavior.
