Plastic treatments in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings

Abstract

Research Summary

The current research addresses the topic of "Graphic Treatments in Contemporary Iraqi Nature Drawings." The research focuses on the graphic treatments and technical methods in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings. The research comprises four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the methodological framework of the research, represented by the research problem, which is defined by the following question: What are the graphic treatments in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings? The chapter also discusses the importance and need for the research, as well as the research objective, which is to "identify the graphic treatments in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings." The research scope is limited to studying the graphic treatments in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings for the period (2010-2020), specifically in Iraq. The first chapter concludes by defining the most important terms used in the research. The second chapter contains two sections, including the theoretical framework and its indicators, followed by previous studies. The first section addresses the graphic treatments of modernist trends and their impact on contemporary Iraqi drawing, including the most important schools working in the field of nature drawings. The second section addressed the artists' experiences in contemporary Iraqi nature drawings, including the artists' experiences in drawing Iraqi nature and the most important plastic treatments that have emerged in Iraqi nature drawings.

The third chapter included the research procedures, identifying the research community and its representative sample, concluding with an analysis of the research sample of (3) as a model of various artworks.

The fourth chapter included a set of results and conclusions, including:

1. The focus was on color rather than the line that defines the shapes in Iraqi nature drawings, in order to benefit from the properties of color in this and provide greater aesthetics and color.

2. The artist's interest in conveying reality as it is stemmed from the detail and beauty of Iraqi nature.

Conclusions:

1. The works were characterized by conveying the local reality of Iraqi nature and addressing the important themes depicted by the artist.

2. The artist relied on plastic treatments to address the shapes or elements in the works.
