Abstract

Abstract of the research:

The current research dealt with the growing tension of the hero's character in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text. The research consisted of four chapters. The first chapter dealt with the research problem, which was determined by the following question (What is the nature of the growing tension of the hero's character and its connotations in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text?) and the importance of the research that emerged from the importance of the topic of tension and its growth and study as a common realistic case that affects the character, while the goal of the research was manifested in: (Identifying the nature of the growing tension of the hero's character and its connotations in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text). The research boundaries were limited to (Iraq) spatially, and (2014) temporally, while the objective limit included studying the growing tension of the hero's character and its connotations in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical text. The researcher concluded the chapter by defining the following terms (tension, growing, character, connotation). The second chapter (theoretical framework and previous studies) included three topics. In the first topic, tension was studied conceptually, and in the second topic, the development of the hero's character in the global theatrical text. .Then the chapter concluded with the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. As for the third chapter (procedures), the researcher identified the research community and its sample, and took the indicators of the theoretical framework as a tool for analyzing the sample, while the fourth chapter included the research results, conclusions, recommendations and proposals. The researcher puts forward a number of the results she reached:

1-Tension and fear of the personality led to internal and external growth, as the personality grew internally through the movements of fear and loneliness, and this is what we contemplated with the character's course.

2-The effect of tension in the multiplicity of internal personalities, one after the other, a multiplicity conditional on many qualities, and these personalities differ in their different stereotypical forms, as we find that this personality is neither a child nor a young man, but a struggling project.
