Eclecticism and its Representations in Contemporary Iraqi Ceramics

Abstract

Research Summary

   There is a current study to understand the plan of eclecticism in contemporary Iraqi ceramics, and it may include four chapters, the first chapter of which is about the applied framework of the research, which is the research problem that was identified by answering the following questions: Is contemporary Iraqi an eclectic form of contemporary ceramic advances, and is it constructive? Iraqi only based on the diversity of ceramics and technology?

? The second chapter, which is the framework of consideration, contains three sections

They are: The first section - selectivity philosophically and conceptually. The second topic was: representations of eclecticism in contemporary Iraqi ceramics. Then the second chapter, in its theoretical framework, resulted in a set of indicators that benefited the researcher in directing her analysis of the research sample. The third chapter includes the research procedures, which are the methodology used and the research community, in addition to the research sample and the tool used in the analysis. Then sample analysis was followed by results and conclusions

Among the most important were:

1. Eclecticism appeared in contemporary Iraqi ceramics through the intersection of artistic genres and genres in multiple ways based on transferring or restoring forms, elements, and technical treatments according to appropriate selective mechanisms.

2. The areas of selectivity in contemporary Iraqi ceramics become clear through the correspondence and overlap of the formation systems and implementation mechanisms that the contemporary Iraqi potter resorts to in order to harmonize the contemporary ceramic work with the artistic and aesthetic heritage of ancient Iraqi ceramics, and this was clear in the sample model.

As for the conclusions:

1. Contemporary Iraqi ceramic products overlap with the products of pottery, ceramic sculpture, ceramic murals, and dyeing techniques or adding materials such as wood, plastic, metals, and other materials as an open field of application.

2. Structural treatments of contemporary Iraqi ceramic works indicate the presence of independent intellectual structural features that were achieved as a result of cultural communication.

It also includes the most important recommendations, proposals, sources, and a summary in English.
