Meaning is an objective reality and a subjective field of knowledge that the designer lives and deals with, according to the diversity of scientific approaches, which in some of their aspects have revealed many of the moral aspects of man, which look beyond reason and experience, which is what the subjects of art in general and the arts of design (fabrics and fashion) need in their intellectual, philosophical and moral levels to a great extent, especially in how to benefit from the references of past thought and the nature of the present, and it has been determined The research problem is based on the following question: What is the diversity of connotations of visual forms in fabric and fashion designs? The importance of the research is evident in revealing the diversity of connotations of visual forms to arrive at an abstract language that carries symbols that form a purposeful aesthetic dialogue with the functional goals of fabric and fashion designs, which are apparent through the research objective: revealing the diversity of connotations of visual forms and the language and purposeful dialogue they constitute in fabric and fashion designs. The second chapter included the theoretical framework, which consisted of four topics. The first dealt with diversity and the concept of significance, the second dealt with meaning and design connotations, the third dealt with the technical foundations in fabric and fashion designs, and the fourth dealt with the formal connotations of fabric and fashion design. After that, the most important indicators resulting from the theoretical framework were extracted. The research procedures were determined in the third chapter by adopting the descriptive approach as an analytical method for the purpose of analyzing the sample models from the research community, which amounted to (16) designs, which were chosen intentionally at a rate of (25%), as their number amounted to (4) design models.
