A Historical Study on the Impact of Piano Construction
This study offers a historical investigation into the impact of piano construction, highlighting the key performance breakthroughs that distinguished it from its predecessors—the clavichord and harpsichord (both keyboard-based instruments). It follows the emergence of a technological need that led to the innovations introduced by Bartolomeo Cristofori in 1700, beginning with the pioneering hammer mechanism and the revolutionary incorporation of the iron frame, along with their mechanical and acoustic consequences These developments brought forth a musical instrument marked by expressive depth and sonic dynamics, which in turn gave rise to new performance practices and pedagogical and artistic approaches. These advancements facilitated novel compositional patterns and nurtured a holistic methodology in music education while also influencing the everyday presentation of music and contributing to the socio-musical  heritage
