Abstract

Abstract :

The spatial sign in the texts of the children's theater

The spatial sign in the theatrical text is an important cognitive sensor, and the diversity of studies on the place gave it a philosophical dimension, so the place became an element associated with other elements of the text for the functioning of educational and purposeful signs that constituted a search key for a number of perceptions and metaphors to access their nature and the ease of referring to reality.

The research included four chapters. The chapter began with the research problem, which crystallized in answering the following questions:

  1. What are the place signs in children's theater texts?
  2. How do place signs function in the theatrical text presented to the child?

The aim of the research is to identify the signs of place in the theatrical text presented to the child, which were determined by the texts of the child's theater presented by the National Acting Troupe / Baghdad and written by the artist Qasim Muhammad.

The second chapter included the theoretical framework, which included two sections: The first topic: The origins of scholarly thinking. The second topic: the place in the theatrical text. The third chapter included the research community, which included (3) theatrical texts by the author Qasim Muhammad because of the diversity of places in these texts, which allowed a variety of spatial signs of the text and its references. Among the most important search results:

  1. It contained the places placed in the text and was dominated by an emotional color loaded with higher moral values such as (sacrifice, support for the right, opposition to injustice).
  2. The place expressed the nature of the dramatic event, embodying pictorial signs that were distinguished by their human nature and devoid of complex linguistic structures.
  3. The spatial signs formed a theoretic unit that added an aesthetic glimpse to the atmosphere of the general dramatic event, which achieved a true environment for the events of the play.
  4. The text was able to convey its semiotic goal to the recipient through the reciprocal relationship between the element of place and other elements of the text. The theatrical text, through duality (theorizing and application), achieved educational goals.
