Spatio-Temporal Structure of the Assyrian Sculpture
Abstract
Research Summary:
The current research (The Spatio-temporal Structure of Assyrian Sculpture) dealt with a study that focused on the great role of the temporal structure in the Assyrian Sculpture. Theoretical framework and previous studies, and included two sections, the first topic dealt with two axes, the first topic was the study of the concept of the structure of time, while the second topic was the study of the concept of the structure of space, As for the second topic, it included a study of the structure, origins and development of Assyrian art. The second chapter ended with the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework, while the third chapter included the research procedures and included the research community and its sample, the research method, the research tool and the analysis of samples, and the fourth chapter contained the most prominent results of the research.
1- The relationship between the event and the characters has a significant impact on the continuous space-time through the moment, its permanence and movement in the artwork, as in the sample models (1, 2, 3, 4).
2- The movement and its rapid succession from the formal effects of the sculpture, contribute to the realization of temporality in the Assyrian sculpture, as in the samples (1, 2, 3, 4).
The researcher reached conclusions
- The environment surrounding the ancient Iraqi individual, with its concepts of strength, fertility and continuity, is linked with the concept of space-time and the mechanism of its intellectual, cultural and artistic treatments.
- The ability of the Assyrian artist in narrating the story through legend or through different artistic productions, and one of the narration mechanisms is the spatio-temporal vision of events within the narrative and narrative system.
It also included recommendations, suggestions, a list of sources and an English summary.
