Form formulations in contemporary Iraqi painting "Rakan Dabdoub as a model"
Abstract
Research Summary:
This research is concerned with studying the formulations of shape in contemporary Iraqi painting through the artist Rakan Dabdoub, as the shape is one of the most important elements of painting and it is the system that forms the image and it consists of a set of formulas that deal with lines, blocks and colors and constitute an aesthetic element through the art of painting. As this research consists of four chapters, the first chapter is represented by the methodological framework, which we tackled in the research problem by asking a question: What are the forms of shape in contemporary Iraqi painting through the works of the artist Rakan Dabdoub? The importance of the research is that it sheds light on these formal formulations. The second chapter, represented by the theoretical framework, came in two sections. The first dealt with the concept of shape and technical formulations of the form, and the second dealt with contemporary Iraqi painting and the artistic experience of Rakan Dabdoub, with access to indicators for the theoretical framework. The third chapter, represented by the research procedures, included the research community, research samples and its tools, and we followed the descriptive approach analysis in analyzing five intentionally selected models from Rakan Dabdoub’s work. In contemporary Iraqi painting, Rakan Dabdoub is a model.
