Representations of surrealism in contemporary feminist painting

Abstract

     The current research consists of four chapters. The first chapter of the research included a definition of the research problem, which was determined by answering the following question: - The importance of the research and the need for it. The aim of the research was determined as follows: What are the representations of surrealism in the products of Western feminist art? The aim of the research is to know the characteristics of surrealism in contemporary feminist art. The researcher has identified the most important terms included in the research. The second chapter included two topics: The first topic: the origin and development of surrealist art . The second topic: surreal feminist creativity .  As for the third chapter, it contained the research procedures and included the research community, sample selection and analysis, which amount to (5) samples of the products of contemporary feminist surrealist painting. The fourth chapter contains the most important results and conclusions, and the most important results are: Surrealist artists use their personal images to express their private and feminist issues in general, given that the female form is suitable for self and social expression. Surrealist artists tend to draw realistic forms, as they are more capable of expressing feminist concerns than abstract forms and more influentia on the recipient. The most important conclusions are: Surrealist artists tend to exaggerate female images and focus on the features of female faces to show the features of beauty in them.
