The Natural Environment and its Impact on Contemporary Iraqi Ceramics

Abstract

Research Summary :

    The current research (The Natural Environment and its Impact on Contemporary Iraqi Ceramics) includes four chapters. The first chapter consists of the research problem, summarized in the following question: What is the natural environment and its impact on contemporary ceramics? The study aimed to detect the physical environment and its effects on contemporary ceramics, using sample models to determine the limits of the research.

At the same time, the second chapter consists of the theoretical framework. It contained two sections; the first dealt with the natural environment and its concept, while the second dealt with its impact on contemporary Iraqi ceramics due to the study of the theoretical framework of the research.

The third chapter presents the applied research procedures using five ceramic works as sample models. The fourth chapter contains the results of the research, which are: The environment in contemporary Iraqi ceramics has established new and unfamiliar indications and relationships between the inheritance on the one hand and the intellectual and social dimensions of human life, on the other hand, the employment of heritage vocabulary in contemporary Iraqi ceramics through the mechanism of inspiration from the cultural heritage The ancient, Mesopotamian, ancient folk traditions and customs and the architectural heritage.

In conclusion, the Iraqi artists sought to expand the semantic openness in ceramics and achieve diversity in their inspiration for environmental vocabulary with heritage connotations in contemporary Iraqi ceramics through various forms, structures, and modern artistic techniques.
