Abstract

Research Summary:

 Decoration is one of the most used elements in the decorative fields, especially those related to the formal side of the holdings, as the current research, consisting of four chapters, dealt with the subject of decorative uses in ornaments and jewelry. Research Title. The second chapter, the theoretical framework, included a statement of some topics related to decoration from a design and functional point of view, especially in jewelry and gold jewelry. The third chapter deals with the methodology of the research, as the researcher deals with the research community, the selection of research samples from the original community, and the construction of a special form for analyzing samples according to the axes set by the researcher. The form was presented to a number of experts to indicate its suitability for application. As for the fourth chapter, it contained the results of the research, including: 1- The possibility of employing the majority of the decorative types used on jewelry and ornaments, in accordance with the nature of the material, whether it was stone or metal, or both. 2- The existence of designs for some ornaments whose basic formal strength is only geometric or vegetal decorative formations only, and they serve as cradles for written texts, names or stones on which they are mounted at a higher level. 3- Using simple decorative elements of a geometric nature to produce decorative bands that are useful for decorating some jewelry, especially the (earring) area for rings and the entire circular band for bridal rings. Conclusions and proposals and ended with a list of sources used to enhance the research.
