Abstract

Abstracts :

The current research is summed up by studying the aesthetics of condensed compositions in Jackson Pollock’s abstract expressionist works, as material and technique, along with non-formal art, have become one of the basic components of artistic creation. The research consists of four chapters. The first chapter includes the research problem, which is defined by the following question (What is the beauty of condensed compositions in Jackson Pollock’s works?)

The research aims to (identify the aesthetics of condensed compositions in the works of Jackson Pollock).

The limits of the research were determined objectively by studying the condensed structures in the works of Jackson Pollock. Temporally for the period from 1943 to 1952, and spatially the United States of America.

The second chapter includes the theoretical framework in two sections: the first is the concept of condensation and the second is abstract expressionism (Jackson Pollock).

The third chapter includes research procedures.

In the research community, the two researchers intended to develop a framework for the community of (40) artistic works, and the sample was chosen intentionally with (4) models due to the need to diversify the artist’s styles according to temporal and spatial changes and the artist’s renewed vision. After analyzing the research sample, the most important results were reached, which are as follows :

  1. The technique of condensation in lines helped create a feeling of dynamism and movement, as well as adding depth and visual contrast that convey the artist’s inner feelings and experiences and arouse feelings in the recipient.
  2. The absence of centralization and controlled random distribution enhances the aesthetics of condensation by filling the visual space with multiple shapes and patterns, characterized by a recurring and diverse stereotypical composition that allows the reader to read the text from all sides.
  3. The color gradation and smooth transitions between colors contributed to achieving color harmony, which enhances the aesthetics of the painting despite its visual density.
