Abstract:
The roots of topic extend to depth of Iraqi theatrical text in first period when Iraqi culture emerged, which was influenced by social and civilized values throughout history, as topic of masculine dominance in theatrical text falls through collective culture of Iraqi society, resulting from cultural deposits that still there today, these deposits set limits for both males and females on information and clear subjective differences. This study Focus on male hegemony and its representations in theatrical text and demonstrates level of hegemony in the texts of the Iraqi writer Mithal Ghazi as a model for Iraqi playwrights. The research problem revolved around the question: What are the representations of Male Dominance in The texts of Mathal Ghazi A play?
Because the displacement of female identity was a result of social structure of patriarchal system, which was perpetuated by patriarchal actions that represented absence of male, such as the absence of father, absence of brother, and absence of husband. It was a result of the production of two characters who played the female’s submission to male hegemony, which led to emergence of the reproduction of hegemony, and this is what was analyzed from the author’s texts (M. Ghazi) as a model to research community.
