Abstract

The current study included the use of assemblage art in the context of contemporary sculpture, as it is an art based on the idea of collecting and assembling various materials, which may often be neglected or previously used materials, in order to transform them into artistic artifacts that redefine their original functions and give them new value, whether from an aesthetic or social perspective. Assemblage sculptural art is characterized by its ability to provide a rich visual and psychological experience to viewers, as each element used in the work can carry a specific story or meaning. In addition, this type of art allows recycling materials and transforming ordinary objects into unique works of art, reflecting the spirit of creativity and innovation. The basic idea behind assemblage art is to reuse materials in innovative and unconventional ways to create new works of art that carry different meanings and connotations. The term "assemblage" is an art term that includes many areas of practical practice and research. The research included four chapters. The first chapter represents the research methodology, the research problem, and how to use assemblage art in creating contemporary sculptural objects that have aesthetic values. It includes the importance of research and the need for it in exploring new dimensions of assemblage art to create works of art that enhance a deeper understanding of contemporary trends. The aim of the study is to explore and identify methods, artistic methods, and materials through which assemblage art can be used as a tool to produce contemporary sculptural objects that achieve aesthetic values. This is done by analyzing existing artistic works that follow this style, as well as ensuring its limits and defining terminology. As for the second chapter, it focused on the theoretical framework. The first section dealt with the concept of assemblage art and the history of assemblage art. The second section includes the most prominent artists and their works. The third section also dealt with the research procedures and analysis of its samples. Finally, the fourth section included the results and conclusions. The most important of which is that assemblage art redefines art by transforming everyday or industrial materials into works of art that carry multiple meanings and symbols that achieve aesthetic values, recommendations and proposals, and the research concludes with references.
