Geometric concepts in Kufic script formations

Abstract:

      Concepts are images of mental treatments of a specific topic, as they are represented by the intellectual and philosophical aspect that expresses it, and the exchange of cognitive values, and work is ongoing in order to produce new concepts in an attempt to link the engineering concept with its corresponding linear achievement on the ground, The first chapter dealt with the research problem by asking what are the engineering concepts in the formations of Kufic script? The goal also included identifying the engineering concepts in the formations of Kufic script for the period from (1423 _ 1436 AH) (2003 _ 2015 AD) in the countries of Bahrain, Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt.

   The second chapter included three topics, the first embodied the geometric concepts (the meaning concept), the second the types of formations in the square and braided Kufic script and the systems and characteristics that distinguish it, while the third topic came the geometric features and design foundations of the Kufic script, while the third chapter included the research procedures which included the research methodology where the researchers followed the descriptive analytical method, while the research community reached (102), and its samples that were chosen intentionally and numbered (5) linear formations,  As for the fourth chapter, it included the most important results:

1. 1. The Kufic linear formations were characterized by an octagonal and three-dimensional geometric shape, as in sample No. (1) to show the character of renewal and modernity.
2. 2. The geometric concepts of a circular shape were based, as in sample No. (2) to give the characteristic of movement.

The researchers suggest: The role of geometric concepts in processing the text adaptation according to the designated space.
