Abstract

Abstract of the research

The current research is concerned with studying the topic (aesthetic and educational values ​​of artistic monuments constructed in Najaf Governorate), investigating the concept of beauty intellectually and conceptually, and revealing the aesthetic and educational values ​​of a group of artistic monuments constructed by artists and engineers in Najaf Governorate. The research was divided into four chapters. The first chapter included defining the research problem, which was manifested through a problem based on the following question: (What are the aesthetic and educational values ​​of artistic monuments constructed in Najaf Governorate). The first chapter also included the goal of the research by identifying (aesthetic and educational values ​​of artistic monuments constructed in Najaf Governorate) and its importance and need for it. The research limits included: the objective limits that were determined by studying the aesthetic and educational values ​​of artistic monuments constructed in Najaf Governorate for the time period extending from (1975-2024) in Najaf Governorate, and identifying the most important terms included in the title of the research and defining them. The second chapter dealt with the theoretical framework, as the theoretical framework included three topics. The first was the concept of beauty in art, while the second topic studied (educational values ​​in art and their importance to humans and society). The third topic was artistic monuments and their aesthetic and educational connotations in the environment. The third chapter included the research procedures, as the researcher reviewed the research community, as the time period covered by the research produced a diverse amount of artistic productions within the limits of the research. As for the research sample: (4) models were chosen intentionally. The fourth chapter included the research results, conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions. The most important results reached by the researcher are the following:

  1. The aesthetic values ​​were represented in the artistic sculpture monuments through the use of the used material that suggests functional and utilitarian connotations, including decorative and aesthetic purposes for the environment. We see that all the artistic monuments were chosen for their materials according to an artistic and cognitive study and addressing the problems existing in the environment to preserve them and sustain them over time and the type of space surrounding them, as in sample model No. (1, 2, 3, 4).

As for the most important conclusions, they were:

  1. The artistic monuments in the city's gardens and squares added aesthetic, cognitive, and educational values ​​according to a visual artistic context that keeps pace with the art movement in general and the art of sculpture in particular, and feeding the visual vision with purposeful expressive symbols with useful expressive connotations and contents.

The research concluded with Arabic and foreign sources and references.
