Aesthetics of female representational performance in the Iraqi theatrical show
Abstract
Summary
The Iraqi society has witnessed during the last period several intellectual, social and political transformations as a result of the wars that the Iraqi society was exposed to. In conveying the feminist reality, the theater showed us many images of the woman, including the rebellious, the supportive of the man, the lover and the sacrifice.
The current study includes four chapters. The first chapter - the methodological framework of the research - includes the research problem centered on the following question:
Does the female acting performance possess an aesthetic that in the distinguishes it from the aesthetics of the male acting performance Iraqi theatrical show?
While the researcher identified the goal of the research as follows: identifying the aesthetics of female representational performance in the Iraqi theatrical show. Then the researcher mentioned the limits of the temporal study (2010-2016)
And spatial (Iraq - Baghdad) and objectivity, which was similar to the goal of the research, so this chapter ends with defining the terms and defining them procedurally.
The second chapter included the theoretical framework and previous studies, two topics. The first topic came under the title of the first axis, the feminist movement, and the second axis, the feminist theater. As for the second topic, it came under the title of female representational performance, the first axis globally and the second axis in the Arab world. The second chapter concluded with the indicators of the theoretical framework and previous studies. Research procedures It included the research community, which contained (16) theatrical performances, and the research sample, which included the performance of the play Women's Play 2013 by the writer Mithal Ghazi and directed by Sinan Al-Azzawi, and the conclusion of the study was the fourth chapter, which included the results of the research, including.
1- Relying on the performance-aesthetic side of the female body because of the stimuli and social impressions it carries.
2- Considering the female body as a sign for presenting ideas through the influence of aesthetic and intellectual formations, in addition to the voice, which is considered one of the basics in conveying the idea of the show and the scenic image.
3- The shape of the female body is an ideological theme through which he addressed the struggle of intellectual currents.
The fourth chapter also included a set of conclusions, recommendations, proposals, and a list of sources
