Research summary
Our research titled “Manifestations of the Kinetic Style in the Impressionist School by Edgar Degas as a Model” came to study the Kinetic Style in the Impressionist School through the works of the artist Edgar Degas. The research consists of four chapters. The first chapter represented the methodological framework, in which we addressed the research problem through the following question. : What is the kinetic style in the impressionist school through the works of the artist Edgar Degas? The importance of the research comes from the fact that it sheds light on the study of the kinetic style in the Impressionist school through the works of the artist Degas, in addition to the spatial and temporal boundaries in France and Italy from the year (1873-1885 AD). The second chapter, which is the theoretical framework, dealt with three topics. The first topic dealt with the concept of style, its origins, and the science of style. The second topic dealt with impressionism, its origins, its features, characteristics, color analysis, and the formulation of its shape systems. The third topic dealt with the artist Edgar Degas, his life, upbringing, kinetic style, and his impressionist themes in which he was distinguished, in addition to the contrast between photography and impressionism in which he was distinguished, and the effect of light on his works, to come up with indicators for the theoretical framework. The third chapter, which is the research procedures, included: the research community and intentionally selected samples of Edgar Degas’ drawings. The fourth chapter dealt with the research results, a list, and a discussion of them, then the conclusions, recommendations, suggestions, and a list of sources and references to reach the goal of the research, which is to identify the kinetic style in Edgar Degas’s impressionist drawings as a model. The following are the most important results that the researcher reached:
- The movement is clearly evident in most of Degas’ works, as in Model No. (1), (2), (3).
