Research Summary
The method of acting performance in image theater occupied an important place during the twentieth century, as it relied on the actor’s body in formulating the image of the show, and this method had important effects on the mechanisms of the actor’s work in contemporary theatre. In light of the above, the researcher divided her research topic into four chapters. The first chapter included the “methodological framework,” beginning with the research problem centered on the following question: What is the specificity of the acting performance and the mechanisms of the actor’s work in the picture theater, specifically the play The Sorrows of the Circus Clown? Then the importance of the research, the need for it, the goal of the research and its limits, was followed by defining the terminology, which resulted in defining the terms privacy, performance, and image linguistically, terminologically, and procedurally.
The second chapter included the theoretical framework and was divided into two sections: The first topic: The specificity of acting performance and the mechanisms of the actor’s work in Western and Eastern theatre. The second topic: Acting performance in the image theater globally. Then the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework came at the conclusion of the chapter. As for the third chapter It included the research procedures that included the research community and its sample, which consisted of the play The Sorrows of the Circus Clown, then the research methodology and tools, then the analysis of the sample. The fourth chapter included the research results reached by the researcher. The chapter also contained conclusions and a set of recommendations and proposals and was supported by sources and references.
